On October 24, 2026, members of the Kaundal Artificial Intelligence & Advanced Bioinformatics Lab (KAABiL) attended the Hansen Life Sciences Retreat. This annual event brings together Utah State University students and faculty from diverse departments who share a common goal of understanding biological processes at the molecular level. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Maverik Stadium Champions' Club, the retreat offered an inspiring atmosphere for interdisciplinary networking and collaboration.

A major highlight for our team was the poster presentation by KAABiL researcher David Guevara. David presented his innovative project titled, "APInet: Integrating Multi-Method PPI Prediction and Transcriptomics to Decipher Animal-Pathogen Interactions". His work highlights our lab's ongoing commitment to developing advanced computational tools that predict protein-protein interactions (PPIs) to better understand infectious disease mechanisms. We are incredibly proud of David for excellently representing our lab's contributions to bioinformatics and computational biology.
